Nutcracker

I love going to the Nutcracker every year, it really starts the holiday season off for me, I try to recall every year how many years we have been going but I can never pin it down. But no matter how many years ago it started for us it will always be my FAVORITE tradition. I love it!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanks mom for cooking such a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner! Everything was super yummy and the company was just as good. I love how Asher hangs on Izsak and wants to be where ever he is, it is sooooo cute and I think that it makes Izsak feel important. The kids had fun spending the night with grandma and grandpa and it made for a nice quiet night at home too. On friday morning (because the kids were gone) we were able to get the furniture moved around and ready for the tree. Then to haul in all the Christmas totes(it has only taken me 3 days to get all the decorations up). Friday night we had a double date with Jim and Lori which we really made the most of. We went down to Ogden to see a movie, (Twilight) then we decided to go to dinner and back for another movie (Quantum of Solice). For people that hardly ever go to the movies that was quit a leap to do two in one night. Today after church the kids got to business decorating the tree, which consists of seperating the ornaments into three piles as they each have their own ornaments and then when they are done I get to put the finishing touches on by adding my decorations. I love to sit here in the dark with only the lights of the Christmas tree.

Wrestling

Izsak has been in wrestling for the last month and they had their final meet on Saturday. The cool thing about the little league wrestling is that they all gets medals win or lose, the coaches are great with the kids and they have a fun time. I am just glad it is only for one month a year because it make for a busy schedule. But Izsak loves it and is pretty dang good at it too. Great job Izsak!!

My Little Drummer Boy

Tonight was the band concert for Jacob. This year he is in what they call the intermediate band (which means 7th grade band). Anyways he is really enjoying playing the percussions and plays them well. These concerts are fun to go to because they always involve the Bear River High School Jazz Band, they are the cream of the crop of musicians in the valley here.. Having them involved in the middle school concert really gives them the chance to see what they can become and what they can accomplish with their instruments if they stick with it. And it sounds like Jacob wants to stick with it so we'll see where it takes him.

Jokes (as told by Izsak)

(all jokes begin with this line)
I'm going to tell on you...Why?...

-Because you put ants in my pants and made me dance.
-Because you put a bear in my chair and made me swear.
and my personal favorite
-Because you put a dart in my heart and made me fart all through Wal-mart.

What a reader!

It seems that most days you would be hard pressed to find Izsak WITHOUT his nose in a book. He has to read 20 minutes every day for homework but he usually continues reading for up to an hour after the timer has gone off. He also has convinced himself that he can't go sleep without reading for awhile (I call this the Aunt Aleeca syndrome, which is a better claim than the finger sucking:-) right?) . Calista also has this syndrome. These are a few of the books he enjoys right now.

FRIGHTENING FUN!

After trunk-or-treating and the chili party at the park, we decided to take the kids to the corn maze down the street from our house. Now the fun part about this was that it was a haunted corn maze. At first Calista and Izsak were hanging on Hugh and I while we were chased by chainsaw wielding crazy people. But about half way through they started laughing at them as they came after us. It turned out to be a ton of fun.
