Field trip to Clark Planetarium

I got to go on a super fun field trip with Izsak on Monday. The coolest part was the dome theater and the night sky show that we watched. Very fun place.
Izsak and his friend Kyle.
Walking on the moon with Jaden.
At the weather forecaster station.

Getting crafty for sanities sake

So I have decided to implement a new system to get the kids to help around the house more. I wrote down 6 chores that they can help with and I will pay them $2 a week. So in order to keep them from losing their money we made "piggy" banks. We started with these empty cookie canisters. Everyone picked out their own paper and designed it how they wanted.

It was fun to see the creative side of the kids come out.

And yet they are all pretty similar as far as the stamps they chose to use.

Now for the grand finale. If they argue, whine or tell me no...they have to pay me a quarter so of course I had to have a bank too. Which I am happy to say does have a little bit of money in it but nothing for the last week or so. The kids have over all been very good about doing their assigned chores and the house looks great.

Hardware Ranch

I have not been to Hardware Ranch since I was.....well let's just say it's been a long time. So knowing that I had President's day off and the kids where free of school that day, we headed up to see the elk.

Izsak kept wanting to race down the hill.

The horses that pulled the wagons around where beautiful. They were so gentle and loved having the kids pet them on the nose.

The elk were really a sight to behold. It snowed on us while we were there but it was still pretty warm so all in all we had a great trip.

Jacob's New Glasses

Jacob has joined the ranks of eyeglass wearers. He and Calista had to have a picture together now that they are twinners.

I think that they make him look super smart and very grown-up. He sure is turning into a good looking fellow if I do say so myself.

Haircuts (thanks Mel)

BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked him if we could just trim around his eyes and ears because I actually started loving the long hair look on him, but he told me NO. He wanted all of it cut off. Then he informed me that he wants to grow it out every summer.

AFTER!!!! He doesn't even look like the same kid! But look at those beautiful eyes!!!

Not to be out done....Calista wanted a hair cut too (I am secretly thrilled about this one)

She looks so grown up with this little bob cut. I just love this cut on her.
